Event Description: Young Hearts for Africa is a group of high school students who have committed themselves to effecting positive changes in Africa. These outstanding students have led several community wide fundraising initiatives to purchase Bibles for orphans in Kenya and to financially support children living in orphanages supported by Heart for Africa. On Sunday, November 22, 2009, the Young Hearts for Africa will be hosting the Walk for Water fundraising event at North Forsyth High School comprised of a 4 mile walk symbolizing the distance a child in Africa must walk each day to get water for their family. The students will walk 2 miles, pick up approximately 50 lbs of water and return 2 miles carrying the water. The proceeds from this event will go towards those Young Hearts for Africa travelling to Kenya this December to serve at a Heart for Africa orphanage and to support ongoing Heart for Africa water projects in Kenya and Swaziland. All proceeds from these events will benefit the Young Hearts for Africa traveling to Kenya this December and to help provide clean water to those in Swaziland.
