Event Description:

Physical inactivity is a huge national problem.  Seventy percent of Americans don’t get enough exercise.  That’s true for many of us in Forsyth County . And it means we’re at greater risk for heart disease, stroke and other blood vessel diseases.  These largely preventable diseases cost businesses like ours billions of dollars a year.

Physical activity offers lots of benefits.  Which of these are important to you?

Reduce the risk of heart disease
Help control weight
Improve blood cholesterol levels
Prevent or manage high blood pressure
Boost energy level
Help manage stress
Improve self-image
Increase muscle strength
Share an activity with family and friends

To help promote the benefits of physical activity, we’ll join the American Heart Association and others across the nation in holding National Start! Walking Day on April 8, so mark your calendars.  We will meet at 4:30 pm at Northside Hospital-Forsyth in front of the Womens’ Center for an invigorating 1 mile walk at your own pace.

See you there!

We will meet in front of the Women's Center.
