Event Description: The Georgia Charter Foundation in partnership with Charter Schools USA plans to file a charter petition with the Forsyth County School District to open a Kindergarten-Eighth Grade (K-8) charter school for the 2010-2011 academic year. Charter schools offer a tuition-free alternative to traditional public schools. In an effort to receive community input as well as obtain support for the proposed school, Charter Schools USA will hold two community input meetings. The event, which is free and open to the public, will provide residents with an overview of charter schools and how parents can get involved in the planning stages of this proposed school.
