Event Description: Coordinated by Master Gardener Lou Vanek. The following Master Gardeners will present fascinating topics such as: Worm Composting (Chuck Cornwell) Bats - a visual presentation (Joan Harbin) Make and take bird feeders (Charlie Strong & Linda Hanna) Make and take terrariums (Fred Mullins, Dorothy O'Kelly, Shirley Thomas, Nancy Wilson) A story telling period (subject to change) All materials will be provided - the children just have to show up with their parents. What a wonderful way to spend time as a family and engage children in learning about the natural world! Reservations for the Youth Program need to be made through the Forsyth County Extension Office at 770-887-2418. This program is limited to 50 children (ages 3 through 5th grade). Planning is underway for a Spring Library series which will incorporate some of the unique characteristics of some of our demonstration gardens with a presentation followed by a tour of the garden e.g. a presentation of native plants followed by a tour of Sawnee Mountain Preserve on Spot Rd. More information will be in the Febuary newsletter and future announcements.
