Event Description: Our annual Hay Day takes place at the Cumming Save the Horses location every October, and proceeds are used to purchase hay for the animals to eat during the coming winter. There will be great activities for kids of all ages (including the adult variety) such as hay rides, corn hole tournament, horse rides, a cake walk, petting zoo, and stables where you could visit and get to know some of the beautiful horses who live on the farm. All proceeds go to savethehorses.org. Free parking and admission. Directions:
Save the Horses Horse Rescue, Cumming Directions: From I-75 N: Take I-75 North to 575 North (Exit 268). Take 575 until exit 19A Cumming Hwy/GA-20 E via EXIT 19A toward Cumming . Turn right off of the exit an go east on Highway 20 for about 12 miles. Look for Free Home Elementary School on the left and Publix Shopping Center on the right at the intersection of Highway 20 and Ballground Road (traffic light). Turn left on Ballground Road (Highway 372) and go about 1.5-2 miles. Turn right on Newt Green Road, just past the Hawk’s Ridge Golf Course. Go 2 miles on Newt Green Road to 1768. The Rescue is on the right and is named North Wind. It is the last farm on the right before Franklin Goldmine Road. From GA 400N: Take 400 North to exit 13, Bethelview (HWY 141), turn left. Continue about 8 miles to Canton Highway/20 west. Turn left on Highway 20 at the McDonald’s/Kroger Shopping Center. Go 2.3 miles, then look for “Runt’s Place” on the right, turn right from right turn lane onto Franklin Goldmine Road. Go 2 miles and turn left on Newt Green Road. The farm is the first drive immediately on the left (1767 Newt Green Road).
