Event Description: As part of the center's transition to a Center for Sustainable Living, Cedar Hill Enrichment Center will celebrate International Homesteading Education Month sponsored by GRIT Magazine and Mother Earth News. Activities and demonstrations will include basics of beekeeping, solar cooking, food preservation, vermiculture, permaculture, black soldier fly benefits, rain barrel construction and biodynamics. The day will include a break from 12:00-1:30 p.m. allowing participants time to relax and enjoy the grounds and woodland paths. Guests may bring a picnic lunch or visit local food establishments within a 4-mile drive from the center. Cedar Hill will provide water and fresh mint tea. The fee for the day is $30 per person and registration is required in advance. Please call 770-887-0051 for more information or to register.
