BB&T Corporation, the 10th largest financial services holding company headquartered in the U.S. During John’s tenure as CEO, BB&T grew from $4.5 billion to $152 billion in assets. He has received many awards including recognition by the Harvard Business Review as one of the top 100 most successful CEO’s in the world over the last decade. In March 2009 he joined the faculty of Wake Forest University Schools of Business. John graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his master’s in management from Duke University.
