Event Description: Ball Ground, GA.- Hawks Ridge Golf Club is proud to stage the 2011 Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship March 19-22. This prestigious Men’s College event is hosted by one of our own, Georgia Tech University. It is sure to be an event that meets and exceeds past championships. Hawks Ridge Golf Club takes great pride in knowing our course will test the skills of even the most experienced collegiate players time and time again, these young participants can expect a challenge throughout the Bob Cupp designed course. Joining Georgia Tech is 2005’s Callaway Collegiate Match Play winner, University of Georgia. In addition to host Georgia Tech and 2005 winner, UGA, is returning 2010 runner up Southern California plus Iowa, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and UCLA. We are proud to welcome for their first appearance in the event Baylor, East Tennessee State, Illinois, Pacific and Washington State. This year’s event will also include 4 Callaway Collegiate veterans such as South Carolina who finished 4th in 2007; Alabama, who showed best in the 2007 and has already won 3 tournaments this season; Duke will be making its 5th appearance placing 5th in 2006; and making their 5th appearance in the Callaway Match Play is Texas who placed 3rd in 2004. The current top 25 rankings for collegiate men’s golf teams include 10 of the colleges participating in this 2011 Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship: Alabama #2, UCLA #3, Georgia Tech #4, Illinois #6, Texas #7, Texas A&M #11, Iowa #12, Georgia #13, Texas Tech #14, and Duke #21.
