About This Session
The discussion focuses on the necessary qualities and personal traits required for starting a business. The steps required to achieve success and take your company to the next level. Gain insights into why banks say NO, but how you can still obtain funds or reduce the amount of money needed by “thinking outside of the box!”
What will be covered:
·Learn the most effective way to obtain Small Business Administration (SBA) Guaranteed Loans, including a review of the bank decision and underwriting process.
·Discover how loan and venture investor decisions are made what crucial questions you must answer, including the importance of credit reports.
·Begin business plan preparation review, and discussion of what your plan must contain to facilitate positive funding decisions.
·Discuss tapping non-traditional funding sources including: Angel Investors, Seed Capital, Venture Capital, factoring, vendor and user financing, leasing, and merchant banking.

Steve Bloom, SCORE volunteer
Steve has had a challenging and rewarding career as an entrepreneur. He has started several business ventures in mortgage banking, real estate development and management, importing, sign manufacturing and business consulting. He has also invested in music video and merchant banking. Steve has been retained by owners to assist in “turning around” a factoring company and distressed real estate properties.
