Event Description: Detention ponds are stormwater control structures that promote both retention and treatment of stormwater runoff. By capturing and retaining runoff during storm events, detention ponds control both stormwater quantity and quality. The pond’s natural physical, biological, and chemical processes then work to remove pollutants. Join Gwinnett County Public Library and the Gwinnett County Water Department for this free Detention Pond Maintenance Workshop and learn how to maintain the vegetation and structural integrity of your detention ponds. This class takes place on Thursday, February 9 at 6:00pm at our Collins Hill Branch, 455 Camp Perrin Rd, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
