Wage or Salary:This position reports to the Regional Director. Under limited supervision, the County Director oversees quality and delivery of all public assistance, employability and social services programs of the agency through subordinate program directors. The County Director: 1. Directs and manages human resource, facility, budget and other related systems within the Department through a deputy or subordinate administrative manager(s). 2. Leads and/or participates in statewide projects and community initiatives as requested. 3. Establishes goals, objectives, policies and procedures consistent with the missions of the Division, Department and Region. 4. Directs professional staff in developing their skills, delivering quality services and documenting efforts. 5. Promotes awareness of programs within the community. 6. Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
The ideal candidate will meet the required qualifications as well as the following: 1. Master’s degree in a related field from an approved, accredited college or university and five (5) years work experience which included the supervision of subordinate directors, managers or supervisors in a human services delivery program (Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), Department of Aging Services (DAS), Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) or comparable agencies. Work experience should have been within the last 48 months and with an emphasis on human services delivery -or- 2. Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an approved, accredited college or university and five (5) years work experience three (3) of which included the supervision of subordinate directors, managers or supervisors in a human services delivery program (Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Department of Child Support Services (DCSS), Department of Aging Services (DAS), Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) or comparable agencies. Work experience should have been within the last 48 months and with an emphasis on human services delivery -or- 3. At least three (3) years work experience inclusive of the most recent 48 months in Child Welfare Services and Social Services with an emphasis on human service delivery
